We believe in a world where everyone deserves a chance for a better future – regardless of who they are, what they look like, or where they come from.

Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King’s work and vision, the Beloved Community is a tangible expression of our collective pursuit of justice, opportunity and equality. Together we have the power to create positive change.

Habitat Charlotte Region’s Beloved Community initiative is a collection of events that bring together a diverse array of partners from across the area to help build a brighter, more just Charlotte Region. It is grounded by the immense opportunity created through affordable housing for families historically left out of America’s dream of prosperity.

We invite you to join us and participate in Beloved Community, and make your own impact in the lives of families right here in the Charlotte Region.

The 39 homes of The Meadows at Plato Price will be built on land that once housed Plato Price School, an all-Black school with a strong legacy. Greater Bethel AME Church recently sold Habitat a multi-acre plot on Peachtree Drive in North Charlotte where we will build 30 affordable homes.
