Habitat Charlotte Region Beloved Community

We believe in a world where everyone deserves a chance for a better future – regardless of who they are, what they look like, or where they come from.

Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King’s work and vision, the Beloved Community is a tangible expression of our collective pursuit of justice, opportunity and equality. Together we have the power to create positive change.

Habitat Charlotte Region’s Beloved Community initiative is a collection of events that bring together a diverse array of partners from across the area to help build a brighter, more just Charlotte Region. It is grounded by the immense opportunity created through affordable housing for families historically left out of America’s dream of prosperity.

We invite you to join us and take a stand against social injustice and racial inequity by participating in the Beloved Community initiative, and make your own impact in the lives of families right here in the Charlotte Region.

MLK Build

Beloved Community kicks off with our annual MLK Build, this year building a safe, affordable home for Yasmine – pictured here with one of her three young children. The event kicks off on January 18, Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Follow along as we follow Yasmine, and chart the progress of her new home.
