Habitat Charlotte Region has committed $600,000 toward Hurricane Helene recovery efforts in Western North Carolina, where thousands of homes were damaged or destroyed. With a $1 million fundraising goal—of which the organization is close to reaching—it has already allocated $500,000 and raised an additional $100,000 from donors to support a multi-year rebuilding initiative that calls for continued community support.
