Habitat Charlotte Region celebrates 15-year partnership with Olympic High, recognizes faculty advisor Mike Realon

This past fall, students from Olympic High School kicked off construction on a new affordable home for Habitat homeowner-in-process Chevon Faulkner. This project marks the 10th home that has been built since Habitat Charlotte Region’s partnership with Olympic High began in 2007, and the second Olympic student-built Habitat house sponsored by Lowe’s.

In July, Olympic High alumni came back to volunteer on Chevon’s house, which is in the final stages of construction. Present at the build was Mike Realon, Faculty Advisor to the Construction and Career Development program at Olympic High. Realon has been part of all 10 of the school’s Habitat builds, but this will be his final one before moving to another school. To thank him for his dedication and years of partnership with Habitat Charlotte Region, Lowe’s presented Realon with the Educator of the Year award.
