After careful analysis and consideration, Habitat Charlotte Region has made the difficult decision to close our University ReStore location.
A guiding principle of the Our Towns Habitat and Habitat Charlotte merger was to combine resources in order to gain efficiencies, reduce costs, and subsequently serve more families. After passing its 5-year anniversary earlier this year, the University ReStore location was never able to fully gain a foothold in the market, and drive revenue levels that delivered a positive net operating income.
Beginning August 24, the University ReStore will reduce its days of operation to Tuesday through Saturday from 9am to 4pm. It will be closing in the November timeframe to allow time to wind down operations, and to place University ReStore staff into other roles within retail operations.
The University closure reduces Habitat Charlotte Region’s retail footprint to 6 area locations. We will continue to operate our Pineville, Wilkinson, Wendover, Cornelius, Mooresville and Statesville ReStores.

House sizes for households with multiple adults or adults who are not married will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
* Children of the same gender who are under 13-years-old and fewer than 4 years apart in age could be required to share a room.
