build a garden bed

THANK YOU to those who joined Habitat Charlotte Region and She Built This City at the Build Your Own Garden Bed event!

This event was a fantastic part of WB30’s Earth Day Celebration weekend. These new garden beds, created from used shipping pallets, gave new life to materials that would have otherwise ended up in a land fill.

Accessories Drive @ ReStore

THANK YOU to everyone who dropped off your gently-used women’s accessories during the Earth Day celebration at the Charlotte Region ReStores! Habitat Charlotte Region and Dress for Success partnered up during Earth Day weekend for a Pumps, Purses & Pearls Drive, and it looks like it was a huge success.

All these donated fashion accessories could be the finishing touch that helps another woman build confidence to enter or return to the workplace, make a great first impression and land a job that could change her life.

Laptop Drop-Off

Keep technology out of the landfill!

Beginning April 24, you can donate your old laptop and charger to the Charlotte Region ReStore nearest you! Habitat Charlotte Region is partnering with E2D to help eliminate the digital divide among Charlotte students. E2D accepts laptops only (with or without their chargers), and they’re not required to be in working condition.

Thanks to E2D, school-aged children of Habitat homeowners, many of whom are women-led households, are presented with laptops at the time of their home closings!

about E2D

Since 2013, E2D has solved the digital divide for over 15,000 CMS families. How have they done that? Through donations of laptops from corporate Charlotte and from generous community members. They take those donations, refurbish them in one of their Re-Image CLT labs, and get them back out into the community. E2D hires CMS students to fill positions in those labs and teach them relevant IT workforce development skills that many of them have continued into their post-high school plans, whether that be secondary education or careers.

Donate to Your Neighborhood ReStore

We make it easy for Women Builders to donate gently used furniture and home goods at your neighborhood ReStore. For smaller items that can fit in your car, simply drop them off at one of our seven convenient locations. For larger donations, simply schedule a pickup online.

When you donate to Charlotte Region ReStores, you’ll be helping the environment AND helping to build and maintain affordable homes in your own community!
