National Service
AmeriCorps is a national service program that provides thousands of Americans of all ages and backgrounds with educational awards in exchange for a year or two of community service.

Each year, AmeriCorps members from across the country serve with Habitat Charlotte Region—helping us achieve far more than we could alone.

Our Work
- To get things done by building and renovating houses with low-income families
- To strengthen communities by enabling Habitat Charlotte Region to utilize volunteers more effectively, bringing together diverse partners in a common cause
- To increase Habitat Charlotte Region’s ability to serve more families through resource development
- To develop a sense of citizenship through service, reflection and the inspiration gained by working alongside homeowners, volunteers and donors
What We Look For
- A sincere desire to serve
- Past history of service participation
- Leadership experience and ability
- Good communication skills
- Ability and interest in working with a team
- Patience and flexibility
- For office positions, experience with Microsoft Office programs and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
