Our Community

Habitat Charlotte Region’s Community Development takes a holistic approach to reinvestment and engagement. We work alongside residents, neighborhood associations, faith communities, local government, and other nonprofits to develop a shared vision rooted in the priorities of each neighborhood—emphasizing the long-term impact partner families and local leadership can have together.

The goal of Community Development is to spark community-wide change—empowering residents to take ownership, build pride, and improve quality of life through locally driven programs, events, and initiatives.

Neighborhood Reinvestment Committee

The Neighborhood Reinvestment Oversight Committee (NROC) was founded on the principles of the Quality of Life Framework. NROC’s role includes attending community meetings, identifying and addressing the needs and challenges of local neighborhoods, and offering regular feedback to Habitat Charlotte Region. The committee plays a key role in helping us stay transparent and accountable to the communities we serve.
