Legacy Vista
Legacy Vista represents a milestone for Habitat Charlotte Region—a community built on innovation and opportunity. Its name reflects the lasting impact this neighborhood will have, helping families achieve homeownership and build generational wealth, many for the very first time.
This development was made possible by the City of Charlotte’s Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), which took effect June 1, 2023. By removing restrictive zoning, the UDO allowed the development of duplexes, triplexes and some quadraplexes to be built on lots previously zoned exclusively for single-family detached homes.
Legacy Vista became one of the first Habitat communities to benefit, featuring five duplex buildings designed by Cone Architecture within Legacy Vista itself and an additional sixth duplex being added along Toddville Road right next door. These changes have allowed Habitat to drastically increase the housing density in this community, allowing more homebuyers in the affordable housing program to have brand new construction homes close to Uptown Charlotte, while still maintaining both design quality and livability.
Cone Architecture’s modern designs mark a new era for Habitat: open-concept layouts, spacious bedrooms, stylish finishes, and contemporary exteriors with wood accents. This thoughtful mix of single-family homes and duplexes creates affordable housing that feels fresh and modern while maximizing land use.
Legacy Vista is already more than halfway sold, with remaining homes expected to close by 2026—ushering in a future where more families can thrive.
