Townes at Carya Pond: A New Vision for East Charlotte Housing   

Habitat Charlotte Region introduces Townes at Carya Pond, a mixed-income townhome community located off Hickory Grove Road near Lawrence Orr Elementary and the Charlotte Museum of History.   

Featuring 72 townhomes, this pioneering project is a collaboration with Striver’s Row, a Charlotte-based real estate firm, a new joint venture between Kingdom Development Partners and Harmon Construction. Together, we’re building an inclusive community for families across income levels. 

Of the 72 homes: 

• 35 will be available to buyers earning 80% or less of the Area Median Income (AMI) through Habitat’s program. 

• 37 will be sold at market rate. 

Habitat will manage site prep and land development; Striver’s Row (a joint venture of Kingdom Development Partners and Harmon Construction) will handle home construction. 

The build will occur in two phases: 

• Phase 1 includes 7 townhomes with Habitat’s popular Elvira floorplan. 

• Phase 2 delivers 65 homes—all with garages, a first for Habitat Charlotte Region. 

Townes at Carya Pond is a bold step toward equitable housing and expanded homeownership in Charlotte.
