Review Program Requirements
To qualify for the Habitat Charlotte Region Homebuyer Program, applicants must meet specific criteria regarding their need for housing, ability to pay an affordable mortgage, and willingness to partner. You can review our requirements by clicking here.
Submit a Screening Form
Next you’ll complete a preliminary screening form to determine initial eligibility. If the screening is approved, you will be invited to complete a series of financial education courses before receiving a formal invitation to apply for a Habitat mortgage.
Begin Financial Education
Continue your journey by participating in our Pathway Education curriculum. We’ll work with you to build a strong financial foundation to prepare for your mortgage application.

Continue Your Journey
Upon pre-approval and acceptance into the Homebuyer Program, you’ll meet with our Homebuyer Team and continue your journey by:
- Completing additional homeownership classes.
- Participating in home construction and community engagement obligations.
- Committing to your future home and maintaining a healthy financial situation.
