Little's Landing
Little’s Landing carries a name with deep roots in Charlotte’s history. The Little family, once sharecroppers and enslaved people on the land that is now known as Polk and White Road, was gifted approximately 33 acres at an extremely low price by their former slave owners—a rare act of redemption, though far short of the “40 acres and a mule” once promised. Generations later, this land became a symbol of resilience and opportunity, inspiring the name for Habitat Charlotte Region’s newest community.
Today, Little’s Landing honors that legacy while making a big impact on affordable housing in Charlotte’s University Area. This intimate, 8-unit neighborhood sits in a wooded enclave near Mallard Creek Park and Tradition Golf Course, just minutes from I-85, UNCC, and popular destinations like IKEA and Topgolf. Designed by Cone Architecture, Little’s Landing introduces Habitat’s first modern townhome concept, blending affordability with striking Northwest-inspired design.
The homes feature bold architectural details—contrasting black-and-white trim, warm wood accents, and varied siding textures—paired with open-concept layouts, 3–4 bedrooms, and stylish finishes. The mix of duplex and triplex homes maximizes land use while maintaining privacy, with a shared parking area tucked behind the residences.
Surrounded by mature trees and adjacent to scenic farmland, Little’s Landing offers a peaceful retreat in one of Charlotte’s most desirable areas. With vertical construction underway and homes already sold out, this community is proving that affordable housing can be both innovative and beautiful.
