community traditions

Throughout the year, Habitat Charlotte Region hosts several special construction projects or ongoing builds to celebrate annual traditions or observe holidays. As these special builds approach, details on how to get involved will be displayed here.

Women Build

What started as a casual conversation among a small group of Charlotte-area women in 1991 has grown into an international movement of women empowering women through affordable housing. To date, nearly 2,700 homes have been constructed by women crews in the U.S. and 30 foreign countries – and it started right here in Charlotte.

Every year, Habitat Charlotte Region invites women from across the community to consider being a part of this meaningful build. Fundraising initiatives for Women Build will take place throughout the summer and early fall.
