Controller

Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region is currently seeking a talented professional to join our team as Controller. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance & Administration, this position is responsible for performing highly specialized accounting work required to maintain Habitat Charlotte Region’s general ledger and to provide regular and accurate reporting of the financial status of the organization. The Controller also leads, directs and reviews the work of the accounting team, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded efficiently and accurately, and that appropriate policies and procedures are in place to guide the work of the team.

AmeriCorps positions

AmeriCorps Construction Crew Leader

Building and repairing more homes is an integral part to our contribution to better neighborhoods and communities, increasing the number of families served. These AmeriCorps members will help manage and develop groups of skilled and unskilled volunteers and homeowner families on the build sites, all while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment. The members serving in this role will be part of the AmeriCorps team that will give the necessary boost to significantly increase the number of families our affiliate is able to serve through our Critical Home Repair (CHR), Rehab and New Construction projects. With the assistance of the AmeriCorps members serving in this role, Habitat Charlotte will complete 54 new builds, 85 home repairs and 15 rehabs during the service term. We view the construction crew leaders as integral to our goals of building and repairing more homes and better neighborhoods and communities throughout our service area.

Preferred qualifications are:
• Desire to serve our community and an understanding of service oriented work
• Past history of service or related experience with Habitat for Humanity or other non-profits
• Leadership experience
• Good communication skills
• Ability to adapt to changes in schedules, weather conditions and other circumstances
