Critical Home Repair Support Specialist

The Critical Home Repair Support Specialist’s goal is to help support a portion of the families approved for Critical Home Repair in the southern region service area by facilitating family meetings, preparing documentation, and developing family expectations up until the completion of the Partner Family’s home repair project. Additionally, the Critical Home Repair Support Specialist will continue to help expand the Aging in Place initiative by assisting with the implementation of workshops and other strategies.

Warehouse Assistant

Assist the warehouse manager with inventory tracking, preparing product orders, and keeping the warehouse space clean and organized. Receive deliveries from vendors, assist construction team with loading/unloading, and prepare groups of items to be picked up by the construction staff. This member will help create efficiencies and discover new ways to better prepare our materials, products, and building components for construction use.

This position will serve in the warehouse 3-4 days a week and as a floater on construction sites 1-2 days a week.

Construction Crew Leader (Existing Homes)

The Existing Homes program operates by purchasing homes that were often, though not exclusively, built by Habitat. We are able to make minor renovations and repairs to the homes in order to restore them to like-new condition. The Existing Homes teams most commonly will focus on the following tasks: flooring, siding, cabinets, trim/doors, painting, etc. Team members are on a Monday – Friday schedule, generally working from 7am to 4:30pm. The teams work year-round, indoors and outdoors, as long as the weather conditions do not pose a safety risk. During the course of the year, the teams will have the opportunity to work alongside community volunteers and future homeowners.

Construction Crew Leader (New Construction, Southern Region)

Building more homes is an integral part to our contribution to better neighborhoods and communities, increasing the number of families served. These AmeriCorps members will help manage and develop groups of skilled and unskilled volunteers and homeowner families on the build sites, all while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment. The members serving in this role will be part of the AmeriCorps team that will give the necessary boost to significantly increase the number of families our affiliate is able to serve through New Home Construction.

We view the construction crew leaders as integral to our goals of building and repairing more homes and better neighborhoods and communities throughout our service area.
