Neighborhood Revitalization Coordinator (Northern Region)

Please note: this position will be based out of our Cornelius, NC office.

Habitat Charlotte Region is expanding the Neighborhood Revitalization (NR) program, which includes strategic acquisition, community collaboration, block clean-ups and neighborhood outreach and education. This AmeriCorps member will be critical in helping meet these goals through planning, coordination and implementation of projects in partnership with our target communities. This member will learn the NR Quality of Life Framework and how it is used throughout the affiliate and communities that we serve to assist in executing the Community Engagement Strategy Plan when working with communities of new construction projects.

This member will also learn about Habitat Charlotte Region’s family selection process and Critical Home Repair program. This member will work with Habitat Charlotte Region’s Marketing and Communications team to help leverage social media to further spread the message of Neighborhood Revitalization.

Warehouse Assistant

Assist the warehouse manager with inventory tracking, preparing product orders, and keeping the warehouse space clean and organized. Receive deliveries from vendors, assist construction team with loading/unloading, and prepare groups of items to be picked up by the construction staff. This member will help create efficiencies and discover new ways to better prepare our materials, products, and building components for construction use.

This position will serve in the warehouse 3-4 days a week and as a floater on construction sites 1-2 days a week.

Construction Crew Leader (Existing Homes)

The Existing Homes program operates by purchasing homes that were often, though not exclusively, built by Habitat. We are able to make minor renovations and repairs to the homes in order to restore them to like-new condition. The Existing Homes teams most commonly will focus on the following tasks: flooring, siding, cabinets, trim/doors, painting, etc. Team members are on a Monday – Friday schedule, generally working from 7am to 4:30pm. The teams work year-round, indoors and outdoors, as long as the weather conditions do not pose a safety risk. During the course of the year, the teams will have the opportunity to work alongside community volunteers and future homeowners.

Critical Home Repair Homeowner Services Coordinator

The Homeowner Services Coordinator role is to support the Critical Home Repair Support team by expanding our Aging in Place Initiative efforts. This will include developing educational workshops, forming community partnerships and creating recommendations for additional programs and services for Partner Families in the Critical Home Repair program. The Homeowner Services Coordinator will also play an active role in ensuring the Partner Family is successful in completing their community service requirement by maintaining communication of available community service options and distributing materials. Additionally, the Homeowner Service Coordinator will help to enhance community service opportunities by creating additional community service options for a diverse group of individuals. Throughout the course of the program the member will be responsible for ensuring the best possible customer experience.

A valid driver's license is required for this position.
