what is Money Matters?

Habitat Charlotte Region now offers Money Matters, a financial literacy program designed to help area individuals and families improve their financial knowledge regardless of their current financial situation or involvement with Habitat.

Each cohort consists of a curriculum of three sessions, held on three consecutive Saturday afternoons. Money Matters enrollment opportunities occur every three months (once a quarter).

who does Money Matters help?

Money Matters is expanded financial literacy curriculum offered to residents of Mecklenburg and Iredell Counties. The three-week program focuses on homeownership in the Charlotte region and assists program participants in their pursuit of homeownership and improved financial well-being. Topics include household budgeting, credit building, investing, retirement and more.

what does Money Matters cost?

The registration fee for Money Matters is $50 per household; a scholarship is available based on income and household size.

Money Matters participants may also qualify for an incentive of financial assistance awarded to overcome financial obstacles to housing or homeownership such as debt collections, security deposits and debt pay downs (up to an undisclosed amount) plus a waived Habitat Charlotte Region Homeownership application fee and 16 Sweat Equity hours (based on approval into program).
