make a difference

Since our founding in 1983, more than 4,000 families in Charlotte have realized their dream of safe, affordable homeownership. This is only possible due to the work and dedication of volunteer groups like yours.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Habitat Charlotte Region!

group volunteer opportunities

Construction (Groups of 4-15)

Most volunteer groups choose to volunteer at Habitat Charlotte Region’s new home sites. Tasks include framing, drywall installation, siding, painting, building sheds, trim work, minor repairs, and more.

Due to ongoing COVID protocols, group construction volunteer opportunities are currently limited to 15 people.

No experience is necessary – our site supervisors provide all the on-site support and training. You can use the buttons below to find your group, or if you are a group leader, you can find a shift by searching through our shift search tool.  If you need assistance, please contact our volunteer team at any time: volunteer@habitatcltregion.org.

ReStore (Groups Up to 15)

Groups can also volunteer at a Charlotte Region ReStore for a morning or afternoon volunteer shift. Tasks include unloading donations, cleaning, sorting, and carrying furniture.

Team Build Partnerships

A Team Build is a group volunteer experience for 10-15 people who come together to work alongside Habitat staff on projects in one of our construction programs or ReStore operations. Together, your team will have fun, connect with their fellow colleagues in a truly meaningful way, and leave with a sense of pride in all they accomplished in service to our local community.

Team Build Partnerships typically range from $5,000 for a 1/2 day volunteer shift to $10,000 for a full-day shift. Benefits of a partnership include:

  • Priority scheduling
  • A reserved site or project for your team
  • Recognition in our annual Community Impact Report
  • A LinkedIn post highlighting your partnership
