Rock the Block

Habitat Charlotte Region's Rock the Block brings together homeowners, community organizations and volunteers to complete exterior home repairs, landscaping projects and other clean-up activities in Habitat partner neighborhoods.

Rock the Block 2022

Let's get rockin!

On Friday, May 17, we’re teaming up with the Pottstown Heritage Group to host Rock the Block in the Pottstown neighborhood of Huntersville.

The neighborhood holds a rich history as one of Mecklenburg County’s oldest Black communities, built by and for African Americans in 1909. The community remains strong today despite the persistent desire to develop areas surrounding the neighborhood. In an effort to help preserve the legacy, history and stability of the neighborhood, Habitat Charlotte Region and the Pottstown Heritage Group will bring volunteers together to complete basic home repairs, maintenance and beautification projects such as mowing lawns, replacing mailboxes, cleaning gutters or planting flowers for residents of the neighborhood.

2024 Rock the Block Volunteer Opportunities

Rock the Block will take place on Friday, May 17th in Huntersville from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Volunteer opportunities are limited, but there are spots available! For more information, please email
