Veterans Build

Habitat Charlotte Region established the Veterans Build program to honor those who served and to encourage veteran involvement in the construction of Habitat homes. A construction crew, made up primarily of veterans and active-duty military, come together to build a new home for and alongside a fellow veteran. These veterans have served our country faithfully and it is now Habitat Charlotte Region's privilege to serve them.

meet the 2024 Veterans Build homeowners

George and Karen are Charlotte natives but said they wanted something a little more quiet and peaceful. George was in the military so has spent plenty of time traveling and said he was ready to settle down in Statesville. They will be building a Ruby floorplan in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Statesville. They have a total of 22 grandchildren so were immediately sold when they saw there was a playground right across the street. We are so excited for George and Karen as they embark on their journey to homeownership!
